Nick Roselli, OTR/L, CHT - Queens, Bronx - Brooklyn - PlainviewLicensed Registered Occupational Therapist
Certified Hand Therapist

“I went into this field to help people overcome injury and dysfunction and get back to work and play without pain. I am fascinated by the intricacies of the complex human hand and upper extremity. I enjoy anatomy, splinting and instructing patients – from children to retirees – on how to help themselves get better.

“Most people think hand therapists only work with hands. In reality, we focus on the entire upper extremity from the shoulder down the arm to the fingertips. We increase patients’ ability to function independently while recovering from an injured upper extremity.

“I believe in the value of patient education and constant communication with patients and referring physicians. Being a good therapist means being able to think outside the box and be creative with treatments plans, splinting and bracing, ergonomic assessment and training. My main goal is to help each patient heal and return to their usual activities, including work, sports and hobbies.

“The personal reward I get from helping so many people is far greater than I ever thought it would be.”

For as long as I could remember, I have had a passion to help people. Occupational therapy, specifically hand therapy is the setting to do just that. For if we lose the ability to use our upper extremities, we lose our ability to live independently.

I treat a variety of patients ranging from traumatic accidents and disability to broken bones, tendon repairs, and everything in between. My objective is to help my patients heal from their upper extremity conditions using the latest techniques in the most effective way possible. I get such great satisfaction when my patient reaches the end of their treatment, with optimal function of their upper extremity and able to engage in their daily activities independently. Nothing excites me more than being a part of that improvement. I am fortunate to have the opportunity to work with and be mentored by Nick Roselli while continuing to advance my education in upper extremity rehabilitation and ultimately, become a Certified Hand Therapist.

In my free time, I love cooking up new recipes, reading new books, and staying active by going for daily runs. On the weekends, I love spending time with my family and friends on the North Fork of Long Island.

Rosalie Bender, Practice Manager

Rosalie Bender, Office Manager“I have been fortunate to work with Nick Roselli, OTR, CHT, for over 20 years in hand therapy. I began my journey with just a handful of patients and watched it grow through the years into a complete flourishing practice caring for patients with all types of upper extremity injuries and disabilities.

“My role as office manager involves creating and maintaining a pleasant work environment while ensuring a smooth-running office. I handle accounts payable, review insurance contracts and administer payroll. Nick and I have a great relationship because we both want our patients to have excellent experiences and results from hand therapy.

“I enjoy my role and work hard to accomplish our mission of delivering compassionate care and making NR-OT the most caring practice that achieves the best results.

“I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, going to parties and the theatre or just spending a relaxing afternoon in the park.”

Linda Prezioso, Billing Coordinator

Linda Prezioso, Billing Coordinator“I enjoy welcoming and meeting new patients, obtaining insurance authorizations and supervising the billing process while ensuring accurate, complete information in our EMR (electronic medical records) software transfers billing correctly. I also coordinate insurance company payment collections, which is critical not only for our patients getting the care they need but for maintaining our services and standard of care. It’s fascinating to see all the moving parts required for my job. It’s never boring.

“When I’m not working, I love spending time with my family on weekends and helping my daughter with her wedding plans. I also love going to the gym. It’s a getaway for me to relax now that my kids are older and more independent. I also love being outside in nice weather, going to the beach or the park. I love cooking because it keeps me peaceful. As a mom, I learned to cook different things so my family wouldn’t get bored.

“My proudest ‘mom moment’ ever: seeing both my children graduate with college degrees.”

Caroline Ryan, Front Desk Plainview

Caroline Ryan, Front DeskI have spent a large portion of my time raising my kids which has been the greatest joy of my life. So I am back in the work force and wanted to be in a position of helping people.

“I am very grateful to have joined the NR-OT team. The work environment has been nothing short of amazing. It has been a great working environment with great people.

Every day I come into the office I look forward to interacting with patients and making sure they leave with a smile on their face!”

“Some of my daily tasks include taking and entering new patient’s information and scheduling them to be seen by one of our therapists as soon as possible. I love being able to witness a patient’s progress and their recovery process.”

“When I am not at work, I am spending time with my husband and two daughters. In my spare time I also enjoy shopping, reading, and crafting.”

Elvin Franqui, Office Manager (Bronx office)

Elvin Franqui - Fresh Meadows, Bronx, Plianview - NY“Being a front office manager, I have the pleasure of being the first person patients see when they walk in. I enjoy meeting new people; greeting and making them feel comfortable. I believe it is important to do this job with a smile… and you can bet that I do!

“When patients call in for an appointment, I take all of their information, make sure they know how to get to the clinic and set them up with their treatment as soon as possible. I have always worked in the type of environment in which I interact with the public, but this job is unique because I am seeing people whose lives are being changed dramatically as the result of the treatment they are getting here. So there is a reward factor that I haven’t really experienced in my previous jobs.

“Nick Roselli Occupational Therapy is a happy place to work at and I enjoy working with Chris, Nick and the other staff members. It's a welcoming environment that makes coming to the office every day a real pleasure.

“When I'm not working, I am a family man; love my family. I have three beautiful daughters, and I also have three beautiful grandchildren. We make a conscious effort to spend as much time together as possible, either by going out together or just barbecuing at my house or one of my children’s homes.

“It’s a pleasure working at Nick Roselli Occupational Therapy. It is a positive place to work and in addition to getting people better, the patient experience is very important to all of us.”
