Experienced, qualified hand therapy in Bronx, Queens & Manhasset.
Imagine what it would be like to lose the use of one or both of your wrists or hands, and you will understand how your entire life could change. It only takes a moment to injure your hand or wrist, but the rehabilitation process can take weeks or months. This is where a certified hand therapist really helps. A certified hand therapist, or CHT, must have a minimum of five years of clinical experience as a physical or occupational therapist and more than 2,000 hours of hand therapy practice to achieve certification. Most hand therapists do not have this additional experience and practice. With the certification’s rigorous requirements, testing and commitment of time and energy, it is no wonder that there are only a relatively small number of CHTs around the country. The OTs on staff are currently working towards their certification.
